New Classical Tracks - Tamar Segiv

Tamar Sagiv, cello: Shades of Mourning (Sono Luminus)

People are grieving. That’s why cellist Tamar Sagiv decided to explore the different facets of grief on her debut solo recording, Shades of Mourning. Tamar first knew the cello was her calling after hearing recordings and watching videos of the late Jaqueline DuPree. Then her mother introduced her to a recording featuring cellist Matt Haimovitz. One of her wildest dreams was to study with him. That dream came true at the Mannes School of Music in New York City, where Haimovitz opened her eyes to many possibilities.
