Pianist Stephen Hough – Piano Postcards (Hyperion Records)
After an incident that ended in his parents carrying him out of a theater in tears as a child, British pianist Stephen Hough only got around to watching the film Mary Poppins in its entirety as an adult. His latest recording features a medley of songs from the film, arranged by Hough himself, along with other songs and melodies from places he’s traveled over the years. That’s why he called it Piano Postcards. Listen as guest host Melissa Ousley speaks with Hough about the new recording on this episode of New Classical Tracks.
