New Classical Tracks - Eric Whitacre

Composer Eric Whitacre - Eternity in an Hour (Decca)

Eric Whitacre is a Grammy-award winning composer and conductor. He recently spoke to host Julie Amacher about his latest project, Eternity in an Hour, a recording that he describes as “Thomas Tallis meets Blade Runner.” The project began during the 2020 lockdown, during which Whitacre said he felt “incredibly isolated” and that he “had two epiphanies.” “One was finding meditation again, really leaning into meditation and trying to find this sense of stillness and presence,” Whitacre said. “And the other was my deep, deep love for synthesizers.”
