New Classical Tracks - Michala Petri

Recorder player Michala Petri – Ole Buck: Concerto Rosignolo; Eivind Gullberg Jensen, conductor; Odense Symphony (Naxos)

Danish recorder virtuoso Michala Petri has been immersed in the world of the recorder since she was 11. By the time she was 16, Petri was in demand as a soloist, and many composers were already writing pieces for her. So far, more than 130 works have been composed specifically for Petri, and she has more than 80 recordings to her credit. The latest is a digital-only release featuring the Concerto Rosignolo, or the Nightingale, by Danish composer Ole Buck, a piece that was also composed specifically for her.
