New Classical Tracks - Solomiya Ivakhiv

Solomiya Ivakhiv, violin: Ukrainian Christmas; with the Lviv National Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra and Serhii Khorovets, conductor (Naxos)

It took many hours by plane, car and foot for Ukrainian violinist Solomiya Ivakhiv to travel to the largest city in western Ukraine to record her latest release, Ukrainian Christmas. “The Lviv Philharmonic is my hometown orchestra,” she says. “I soloed with them when I was 12 years old. […] So it was very meaningful to record that project with them.” Find out more on New Classical Tracks, with host Julie Amacher.
