Jan Lisiecki is a Canadian pianist with Polish roots. As an active performing artist, he currently owns two studios: one in his hometown of Calgary and another one in Poland. That makes his 93-year-old Polish grandmother, who lives close to the latter studio, very happy. The studios allow Lisiecki to spend less time in the air traveling to and from Europe, and more time playing the piano — plus some time to visit Grandma. On his latest recording, Lisiecki features two piano concerti by Mozart, both in the key of E flat major: No. 9 (Jeunehomme), K. 271; and No. 22, K. 482.
