John Jeter, conductor: Violin Concertos Nos. 1 and 2 / Piano Concerto / Dances in the Canebrakes; with the Malmö Symphony Orchestra; Fanny Clamagirand, violin; Han Chen, piano (Naxos)
John Jeter is the conductor and Music Director of the Fort Smith Symphony. He’s been fascinated by the discoveries he’s made over the past several years as he’s explored composers from the Arkansas region. For his latest endeavor, he’s teamed up with Sweden’s Malmö Symphony Orchestra, as well as soloists Han Chen and Fanny Clamagirand, to record Florence Price’s first and second violin concertos, her piano concerto in one movement, and William Grant Still’s orchestrated version of Dances in the Canebrakes. Find out more on New Classical Tracks with host Julie Amacher.
