Harpist Yolanda Kondonassis – Terra Infirma (Azica)
Harpist Yolanda Kondonassis recently released her latest project: an album featuring world premiere recordings of new works by composer Reena Esmail. At the heart of the recording, titled Terra Infirma, is Esmail’s new concerto for harp and percussion by the same name. The piece is named after and inspired by a poem Kondonassis commissioned from Robert Walters, who also plays English horn in the Cleveland Orchestra. However, the work took on new meaning when the 2025 wildfires broke out in Los Angeles, the city where Esmail lived at the time. Find out more on New Classical Tracks.
