New Classical Tracks - Sharon Isbin

Karen LeFrak, composer: Romántico; with Sharon Isbin, guitar; Orchestra of St. Luke’s; Enrico Lopez-Yañez, conductor (KL2)

Throughout her career, guitarist Sharon Isbin has gravitated towards Latin American music. She’s worked with world-class Brazilian guitarists, percussionists and composers. The one missing piece, however, was a Latin American guitar concerto. Isbin’s new recording, Romántico, fulfills that dream. It features three world premieres by composer Karen LeFrak, including the Miami Concerto for Guitar and Orchestra, recorded alongside conductor Enrico Lopez-Yañez and the Orchestra of St. Luke’s. Find out more on New Classical Tracks with host Julie Amacher.
