New Classical Tracks: Caroline Goulding and Danae Doerken collaborate

New Classical Tracks: Caroline Goulding, violin; Danae Dorken, piano - Enescu, Dvořák, Schumann

Caroline Goulding, violin; Danae Dorken, piano - Enescu, Dvořák, Schumann (ARS 38536)

You may have first heard Caroline Goulding 10 years ago when she was featured on the public radio program, From the Top. It was a very impressionable experience for this young performer who loved collaborating with other young artists.

Collaborating with artists her own age is something Caroline also experienced when she was studying in Germany. Now, Caroline and pianist Danae Dörken have just released their first recording together. The contrast of darkness and light and how it impacts our inner and outer selves is the theme, which is reflected through the music of Georges Enescu, Robert Schumann and Antonin Dvořák, "It begins with Enescu's Impressions from Childhood which actually was written in 1940 … he was 55," Caroline says. "And these movements take you through a child's view or perception of the world."
