Geirr Tveitt was one of the 20th century’s most distinctive and prolific Norwegian composers. Today, however, his music is seldom heard outside of his homeland. Norwegian pianist Leif Ove Andsnes has become a champion for Tveitt and recently recorded the composer’s only surviving sonata on an album that also features Andsnes’ sister: vocalist Solveig Andsnes.
