Sarah Bassingthwaighte, composer: Orchestrating the Wild; with the London Symphony Orchestra (Aria Classics)

Sarah Bassingthwaighte is a Canadian-American flutist and composer who’s inspired by nature. She’s surrounded by it every day at her home in Seattle, where she has a view of the Madrona woods. Recently, she immersed herself in an Arctic Circle Residency in Norway with 28 other artists. Their goal was to create art that would connect to the climate and inspire people to enact change. Her love for nature has landed her a complete album with the London Symphony Orchestra after an initial commission of a double bass and orchestra concerto. The album is titled Orchestrating the Wild.
