New Classical Tracks - Gerling and Kashiwagi

Daphne Gerling, violist, and Tomoko Kashiwagi, piano: Encircling (Acis)

“It's always a joy collaborating in chamber music and playing with people, but it's just such a special thing to have a really dear friend be your partner,” collaborative pianist Tomoko Kashiwagi says. A faculty member at the University of Arkansas, she loves nothing more than discovering new works with her friend, violist Daphne Gerling, who is a professor at the University of North Texas. Listen as host Julie Amacher speaks to the duo about its debut recording called Encircling on the latest episode of New Classical Tracks.
