New Classical Tracks - Evren Ozel

Evren Ozel, piano: Mozart: Piano Concertos No. 9 (Jenamy) KV 271 & 12 KV 414 Violin Concerto No. 2 KV 211 - Next Generation Mozart Soloists Vol. 12; with the ORF Radio-Symphony Orchestra Vienna and conductor Howard Griffiths (Alpha)

“I had to pinch myself because it just didn't seem real.” That’s how American pianist Evren Ozel reacted when conductor Howard Griffiths reached out to invite him to record two Mozart piano concertos with the Vienna Radio Symphony, the Concerto No. 9 in E-Flat Major (Jenamy) and No. 12 in A Major. The recording was part of a project that the Orpheum Foundation created to celebrate the next generation of Mozart soloists. Ozel is a rising star on the classical music scene. He recently joined the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, and this past summer he earned the bronze medal and the Mozart Prize at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition.
