Relive Dale Warland's last choral extravaganza at the Minnesota Beethoven Festival

Dale Warland's Minnesota Beethoven Festival Chorale - 2017

The 2018 Minnesota Beethoven Festival gets underway on Monday, July 2, with a performance by the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra.

This annual summer festival, which takes place in the beautiful bluff city of Winona, Minn., features some remarkable talent; this year, for example, pianist Marc-Andre Hamelin and violinist Sarah Chang will give recitals.

And, make sure to join Alison Young for a live broadcast from this year's festival. Tune in on Tuesday, July 17, at 7:30 p.m. for a piano performance by Minnesota native Kenny Broberg.

Last year marked the end of an era at the Minnesota Beethoven Festival. After eight seasons, last summer marked the final time that world-renowned choral director Dale Warland performed with his specially chosen group of singers — an ensemble known as the Minnesota Beethoven Festival Chorale. Classical MPR broadcast one of those final concerts as it happened last year, and you can hear that broadcast again by clicking the player above.
