Choral Colleagues on Learning to Listen

Learning to Listen: Choral Colleagues
Brian Newhouse
Classical MPR host Brian Newhouse introducing the Mormon Tabernacle Choir during its concert in Minneapolis.
MPR / Nate Ryan

I'm a tiny bit out of my element when it comes to choral music. My mom sang in choirs for decades, but after high school, I never joined another choir. I was a staunch instrumentalist who played in seven different ensembles my freshman year in college.

As a result, I invited three colleagues to join me for today's Learning to Listen, all of whom have participated in professional choirs.

Brian Newhouse is Classical MPR's managing director, Jodi Gustafson is our senior administrative assistant, and Tesfa Wondemagegnehu is our choral stream representative.

They'll share their personal choral journeys and some of their favorite choral pieces with you today.
