WDR Symphony Orchestra

1879 was a great year for Antonin Dvorak – that’s the year he was asked to write a new violin concerto that was, “quite original, rich in cantilenas, and for good violinists.” Violinist Augustin Hadelich joins the WDR Symphony Orchestra for this piece. Then conductor Cristian Macelaru leads the orchestra in another favorite – Symphony No. 2 by Sergei Rachmaninoff.
