‘Let There Be Peace on Earth’ (arr. by Mark Hayes) concluded a two-day festival called ‘Reconnecting Through Art/Reunidos en Arte.’ Concerts in El Paso, Texas, and Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, were held to promote community and healing through the arts.
We had chills as Tesfa Yohannes Wondemagegnehu, conductor of St. Olaf College’s Viking Chorus, closed a recent rehearsal with his gentlemen standing in a circle, singing Troy Robertson’s moving ‘In Meeting We Are Blessed.’ We share it, hoping the same for you.
VocalEssence Singers of This Age (SOTA) is an ensemble of Minneapolis-St. Paul high school students who sing, dance, write their own music and reflect the diversity of their community.
