If you'd like to study gospel music performance in school, you won't find a whole lot of options. Now, Nyack College in Manhattan is aiming to change that, with a new brand-new bachelor's degree.

Sign up for a unique choral experience this spring. You'll work with conductor Tesfa Wondemagegnehu, sing with choral enthusiasts from your community, and hear your voice broadcast on our Choral Stream. Part sing-along, part workshop, it's musicmaking fun for voices of all abilities. Registration is now open for Bring the Sing's St. Paul event, set for May 21.

Last month, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir invited singers from around the world to upload video performances in their own voice parts of the Hallelujah Chorus to a specified tempo. More than 2,500 singers from countries as wide ranging as Kiribati, Chile, Russia, and England (among dozens of others), did so. Watch the video of the resulting virtual chorus.

Founded in 1995 by Dr. Everett McCorvey, the mission of the American Spiritual Ensemble (ASE) is to keep the American Negro spiritual alive. The ASE will perform three concerts in the region in April. 'What's so exciting about having them tour the region is they'll be delivering some of the most authentic performance of spirituals that Minnesota and Iowa have probably ever seen,' says Classical MPR's Tesfa Wondemagegnehu.
