Iranian American harpsichordist Mahan Esfahani traveled to Prague more than a decade ago to study with a world-class harpsichordist, and he’s been there ever since. He’s known as a champion of his instrument, and he challenges the idea that the harpsichord belongs only to the past. On his new recording, Esfahani breathes new life into the first book of J.S. Bach’s The Well-Tempered Clavier. It’s part of his long-term project to record all of Bach’s keyboard music. Find out more on this episode of New Classical Tracks with host Julie Amacher.
