VocalEssence Singers of This Age (SOTA): 'Peace Within the Hate'

The future of choral music is in good hands, as evidenced by groups like VocalEssence Singers of This Age (SOTA), which is made up of Minneapolis-St. Paul high school students who sing, dance, write their own music and reflect the diversity of their community. Listen as they perform “Peace Within the Hate,” which the singers co-created, under the direction of G. Phillip Shoultz III (also on piano).

Recorded live in MPR's Maud Moon Weyerhaeuser studio by Classical MPR on June 10, 2019.
