Who needs 'Bad Moms' in movies? Opera is full of them
Today, 'Bad Moms' hits theaters. It's a new movie, but bad moms are nothing new to operagoers.

Stephen King's book 'The Shining' (known to many through the movie) is now an opera, which haunts the stage of Minnesota Opera in its world premiere on Saturday, May 7. John Birge talks to cast members and the creative team for a preview of the opera and its music.
This weekend the Minnesota Opera presents the world premiere of 'The Shining' by Paul Moravec, based on Stephen King's novel. So many opera composers have been inspired by literature, and we will hear several inspired compositions this week for Morning Glories.
This week, University of Minnesota Opera Theater puts 'Lady in the Dark' back in the spotlight. Director David Walsh came to illuminate this new production, with cast members Jennifer LeDoux and Sullie Ojala-Hembolt performing songs from the show.
