On Sunday, Sept. 14, Twin Cities native William Yang performed an all-Chopin concert at Macalester College’s Mairs Concert Hall as part of the Frédéric Chopin Society’s 42nd season. The concert was a glimpse into Yang’s own preparation for the 19th International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, Poland, which took place between Oct. 2 and 23. After three rounds of solo piano pieces by Chopin, plus a final round featuring a Chopin concerto and two additional Chopin pieces, Yang was awarded with 6th place. Congratulations, William!
