Thomas Ades electrifies the Proms

Editor’s note: Audio for this program is no longer available due to rights restrictions.

Can a work of modern classical music be both "attractive" and "dissonant?" Extra Eclectic host Steve Seel explores this question with the Piano Concerto by Thomas Ades. It's a great example of how modern music at its best can be a lot of fun on multiple levels at once. Also featured is a performance from the 2023 BBC Proms. The first hour of the program is all English featuring composers Ryan Latimer, Jane Antonia Cornish, Michael Nyman and Gavin Bryars.
