Watch: Ukrainian violinists respond to war with viral video

More than a month into Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, dozens of violinists have united for a video performance of the Ukrainian folk song “Verbovaya Doschechka.” The clip starts with a single player in a shelter, Illia Bondarenko, who had to record between bombings and sirens to hear himself play. The image slowly zooms out to reveal windows with eight other sheltered Ukrainian violinists and then 85 more from 29 countries, all performing to raise support for Ukraine.
