Friday at 7 p.m. central, listen to a new recording from the Minnesota Orchestra

The Minnesota Orchestra's season was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic, and many of you have told us that you're longing to hear them play again.

We can't reopen Orchestra Hall, but we can bring back some of our favorite performances from the not-too-distant past, as well as some never-before-heard releases.

This week, hear a new release in the Mahler cycle.

Osmo Vänskä and the Minnesota Orchestra have just added the Symphony No. 7 to their Mahler cycle. The symphony took Mahler two summers to compose, and three more years of revisions before he felt ready to lead the premiere in 1908. Its five movements are often described as a journey from night to day. Find out why Friday night at 7 p.m.
