Tell us about the piece you have submitted to Minnesota Varsity?
Downtown Chicago is a song I wrote originally as a solo piece. When I learned about this contest I thought what a fun challenge it would be to turn the song into a four part composition. I wrote this song about what I think it would be like to be a politician today. I think that some people forget that politicians are people too. Although I wrote the song about politicians I have found that I connect to it anytime I am feeling down. I think that is the power of this piece. I hope you may connect to it the same as I have.
