Instrument: Cello
Hometown: Duluth, Minn.
Piece: Johann Sebastian Bach — Suite No. 5 in C minor I. Prelude
Why did you choose this piece?
I chose this piece because it is one of Bach's more unorthodox yet beautiful pieces. Originally, he wrote for the cello's A string to be tuned down to a G. This makes it possible to create colors in chords and phrases that aren't originally possible on the cello.
