Instrument: Violin
Hometown: Arden Hills, Minn.
Piece: Camille Saint-Saëns — Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso
Why did you choose this piece?
I chose this piece because of its unique rhythms and contrasting moods. It is challenging both technically and stylistically. The piece has a mellow, dramatic beginning, continues with a playful theme that repeats throughout, and ends with an exciting and fast-paced finish. I enjoy capturing the different "personalities" throughout the piece.
