Every weekday at 10 a.m., the hosts at Classical MPR play a standout work based on the theme for the week. We call them Morning Glories.
Vintage Fest America, a family friendly antique festival, begins on Friday, July 8 at the Dakota County Fairgrounds in Farmington, Minn. So this week for Morning Glories, we will hear music of composers who looked to the past for melodies, sounds, instruments, forms, and styles to inspire their work.
Monday
David Maslanka: Wind Quintet No. 3
Tuesday
Richard Strauss: Dance Suite after Couperin (selections)
Wednesday
Ottorino Respighi: Ancient Airs and Dances Suite No. 3
Thursday
Benjamin Britten: Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra
