Moveable Feast: Post Thanksgiving Eats

Moveable Feast: Post Thanksgiving Eats

Thanksgiving always reminds me how much fun it is to eat family style at restaurants with shared dishes.

One of the first places that comes to mind is Buca di Beppo — a national chain that started in the basement of a downtown Minneapolis apartment building in 1993, and has several branches in the Twin Cities. It's still serving huge portions of Italian food with a kitschy ambiance, spaghetti and meatballs served on red-and-white checked tablecloths.

Rachel is a huge fan of Chinese dim sum, where servers wheel around carts containing snack-size portions of everything from dumplings to deep-fried sesame-rice balls. Two great places to visit are Yangtze in St. Louis Park and Mandarin Kitchen in Bloomington.

Otherwise, Indian food is great for sharing and there's plenty of it around the Twin Cities, including Copper Pot and Bombay Bistro in downtown Minneapolis, and Gandhi Mahal in Longfellow.
