But for the classics, don't forget low-key spots such as Rinata in Uptown, or its sister-restaurant, Al Vento in Nokomis.
There are lots of delicious options at Bar La Grassa, but two of Rachel's favorites are the Bolognese or the orange-cauliflower gnocchi.
In St. Paul, is Pazzaluna still going strong, and Cossetta's — though it's been known for its casual cafeteria-style eatery — opened a new upscale rooftop restaurant a few years ago that's probably the nicest Italian in the city.
