Mendelssohn -- String Quartet No. 2, Op. 13 I. Adagio - Allegro vivace
by MPR

Minneapolis-based Lux String Quartet strives to communicate their passion for performance as well as education and community outreach. They perform classic string quartet repertoire as well as championing new music and pushing the boundaries of what a string quartet can do. They will perform at schools in Saint Louis Park, Golden Valley, Saint Paul, Fridley, and Vadnais Heights.

Study after study has shown that music is a really important element in the development of the mind, and it's so often cut from school programs in favour of the STEM classes, you know Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. And Lux really wants to take STEM and turn it into STEAM, adding arts back into the mix. Lux is really looking forward to getting out into schools to show students what classical music and the string quartet specifically, what that life is like.
