'Ex Machina' soundtrack now out on vinyl

Since its stateside screening at South by Southwest, Alex Garland's debut as director, Ex Machina, has quickly grown in status. With a score by Portishead's Geoff Barrow and longtime BBC nature documentary composer Ben Salisbury, it's easy to hear why audiences have caught on to this eerie science fiction film.

Now that the film is in wide release, Barrow's label Invada Records is releasing variants of the score on vinyl. The "A.I. frosted clear and blue splatter" vinyl is already sold out, but the white vinyl version is still available.

All sets include a digital download, and you can listen to the track Hacking/Cutting on Soundcloud right now. Price is in pounds as it's a UK label, but they will ship to the States and at this time it's the only way you'll get this music on vinyl.

Garrett Tiedemann is a writer, filmmaker and composer who owns the multimedia lab CyNar Pictures and its record label American Residue Records.
