It’s scientifically proven: Music fuels the flames of romance

As long as there's been music, it's been a soundtrack for romance.

Now, though, lovers who reach for their James Galway and Cleo Laine LP when it's time to turn the lights low officially have science on their side: Japanese scientists have demonstrated that when various couples were brought together for initial conversations, the couples whose meetings were soundtracked with music reported having better impressions of one another on traits ranging from confidence to attractiveness.

The researchers noted that further study could produce more detailed results regarding specifically which music is most effective for stoking romantic flames: the study used classical music, rock music, and hip-hop. Our writer Nasir Sakandar, however, strongly suggests that you turn to the classical repertoire at all stages of your dating life.
