The nearly-complete list of nominations for the 57th annual Grammy Awards has been revealed, and Minnesota composer Stephen Paulus — who died this year at the age of 65 — has been nominated for a Grammy Award in the category of Best Contemporary Classical Composition.
The honored work is Paulus's Concerto For Two Trumpets & Band, recorded by Eric Berlin, Richard Kelley, James Patrick Miller and the UMASS Wind Ensemble for their Fantastique album on MSR Classics.
Also honored in this year's Grammy nominations are local children's act the Okee Dokee Brothers, who won a Grammy two years ago for Best Children's Album and could win that award again this year.
The only remaining nominees to be revealed are those for Album of the Year; those nominees will be revealed tonight on CBS as part of the Very Grammy Christmas special. The 57th Grammys will be presented at Staples Center in Los Angeles on Feb. 8.
