"Show Us The Truth."

So says the opera diva Maria Callas while coaching a student singer in Terrence McNally's play Master Class.

But what is truth in art? What is truth in life? How do we find and define our legacy?

Theater Latté Da takes on these questions in its new production of Master Class, starring Sally Wingert as Callas, along with Kira Lace Hawkins and other gifted singers. Wingert and Hawkins came to Classical MPR with the show's director, Peter Rothstein, to consider the complex contradictions of Callas. They also performed a scene and an aria from the show.

Theater Latté Da performs Master Class in Antonello Hall at MacPhail Center for Music in Minneapolis. Due to high demand, the run has been extended to Sunday, Nov. 9.
