Some holidays don't turn out the way we intend them to. Then again, some family holiday celebrations are a little goofy to begin with.

We've all experienced a holiday that isn't quite picture perfect. Whether intentional, or unplanned, in hindsight they can offer a pretty good perspective... and maybe a chuckle or two.

A terrific example is Bill Morelock's recounting of the flood of 1964 in the Willamette Valley. Young Morelock made sure to take the things that meant most to him while the water was rising through his home.

Yours might be less of a natural disaster, but we still want to hear it.
