For our new weekly feature, "Moveable Feast," Rachel Hutton of Minnesota Monthly joins John Birge to talk about food topics in which Classical MPR listeners may be interested.

Last week, John and Rachel talked about where to go to get the food for your Thanksgiving table. This week, John and Rachel investigate where to go if you want to let someone else make Thanksgiving dinner.

Rachel suggests visiting those places that are accustomed to guests on Thanksgiving: hotels. Restaurants in hotels frequently serve very nice Thanksgiving dinners. In downtown Minneapolis, for example, Rachel mentions Firelake Grill House in the Radisson Plaza Hotel, BANK in the Westin Hotel and Cosmos in the Graves Hotel.

Another thought, as long as one is going out, is to consider something completely non-traditional. For example, a visit to a Szechuan restaurant may offer roast duck, an Indian restaurant may offer a buffet, or South American restaurant Brasa, for example, offers roasted meats and sides. All of these choices create a Thanksgiving feeling through the spirit of shared meals.

But whatever your choice should you decide to go out, John and Rachel offer one vital piece of advice: Phone ahead.

And Happy Thanksgiving!
