Capturing and performing the music of the medieval and Renaissance periods can be two separate things. The duo Asteria have taken ancient manuscripts and used their musical expertise and artistic reasoning to bring this music to light. They say the songs - some of which are 400 to 500 years old - aren't that much different than the love songs of today. Asteria is soprano Sylvia Rhyne and tenor and lutist Eric Redlinger. They spoke with Classical Minnesota Public Radio's Steve Starruch.
