This week's episode of Extra Eclectic percolates with a myriad of exciting selections, including no fewer than three that feature guitars. Spanish composer Javier Lopez de Guerena's Concierto Ecuanime pairs guitar with vibraphone for a thrilling mixture of classical and jazz textures. Janika Vandervelde's Genesis V presents a gentler tapestry for guitar quartet. Host Steve Seel also plays the rollicking work for piano duet, Etude From the Old Country, by contemporary veteran Terry Riley, as well as an ethereal and otherworldly choral piece by John Cage, Four2.
