Valentine's Day with Cantus

Cantus - Valentine's Day
Cantus
Cantus looks at this unquantifiable emotion from all sides.

Join Alison Young for an hour of lovely music, as she hosts the nine men of Cantus as they talk about their current project, the Four Loves.

Love has been the inspiration for artistic expression since the dawn of time. The idea is so complex that the Greeks broke it down into four different kinds: romantic, familial, friendly and unconditional love. Cantus regards our greatest and most fragile gift in The Four Loves. With premieres by David Lang, Ysaye Barnwell ("Wanting Memories"), Roger Treece and Joseph Gregorio as well as music by Beethoven, Poulenc and Grieg, The Four Loves looks at this unquantifiable emotion from all sides.

Recorded January 6 2016 at Plymouth Congregational Church in Minneapolis, Minn.
