As part of their European tour, Manfred Honeck and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra opened this year's Musikfest Berlin on August 31.

The program featured:

Janaček: Suite for String Orchestra

Lutosławski: Chain 2, Dialogue for Violin and Orchestra

Strauss: Ein Heldenleben, Opus 40

The streaming is produced by the Digital Concert Hall. The Digital Concert Hall is the virtual concert venue of the Berliner Philharmoniker on the Internet.

The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra's European Tour begins with two concerts at the Grafenegg Festival on 29 and 30 August 20 and 30. On September 3, they will be making their debut at the George Enescu Festival Bucharest. Concerts will also take place in Paris (September 6), Dusseldorf (September 7) and Frankfurt am Main (September 8), as well as to the Lucerne Festival (September 10/11) and the Beethovenfest Bonn (September 12/14).
